King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream. He couldn’t understand the meanings of his dream so he called in all the wise man and magicians to interpret the dream for him.
The wise men and magicians went to King Nebuchadnezzar.
They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “Your Majesty, please tell us your dream so that we can interpret the dream for you.”
King Nebuchadnezzar answered, “No! I won’t tell you my dream. You must tell me what I dreamed together with its meaning or I will chopped you into pieces and destroy your house,”
The wise men and the magicians said, “Your Majesty, This is impossible! If you don’t tell us your dream, how can we interpret the dream for you?”
King Nebuchadnezzar answered, “You are making me very angry now! You know I will chop you into pieces and tear down your houses if you don’t come up with the answer! You know my dream but you all had plot against me and come up with these lies instead.”
Then King Nebuchadnezzar ordered that all the wise men in Babylonia including Daniel and his three friends be put to death.
Arioch was on his way to put the wise men to death when Daniel approached him and asked, “Why King Nebuchadnezzar gave such a cruel command?”
Then Daniel returned to tell his three friends to pray to God so that He will tell them the dream and give them the answer to the dream.
One night, God gave Daniel a vision of King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and its meaning. Daniel praised and thanked God.
Daniel went to Arioch and told him, “Don’t kill the wise men. Take me to the king and I will explain the dream to him.”
Then Arioch rushed Daniel to King Nebuchadnezzar.
Daniel said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “Your Majesty, not even the wisest person can give you what you demand. However, God had showed me your dream and its meaning.
In your dream, you saw a huge statue standing in front of you. The head of the statue is made of gold whereas its arms and chest are made of silver.
The area below the waist to the knees of the statue is bronze. From the knees to the ankles, the statue is made of iron and clay.
A stone was hewn from the mountain not by human hand. Then the stone strike the area from the knees to the ankles and it was shattered.
The gold, silver, and bronze were blown away as well without a trace. But the stone became a very giant mountain that extends to the whole earth.
Your Majesty, God is telling you that you are highly honored over all human and beasts. You represent the gold.
After you have passed away, another kingdom will conquer your kingdom. This kingdom represents the silver and it won’t be as strong as your kingdom now.
After this, another kingdom will come. This kingdom represents the bronze.
Finally, another kingdom which is the result of two marriages between two kingdoms will come but it won’t be strong and will crush just as clay and iron don’t mix together.
At the time of these kings, God will set up an eternal kingdom which will last forever. This eternal kingdom represents the stone cut from the mountain.”
King Nebuchadnezzar was pleased with the dream interpretation that Daniel gave him.
He gave lots of gifts to Daniel and promoted him to become the governor of Babylon Province.
King Nebuchadnezzar also promoted Daniel and his 3 friends, Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego to high officials in the province of Babylon because Daniel requested this to him.
Carol says
King Nebuchadnezzar understood what his dream meant once Daniel explain what God told him.
So, I thing our dreams do having some meaning or message from God.

The Bible confirms that God does speak to people in dreams. Many people in places hostile to Christianity report having dreams of Jesus. Not every dream is from God. A dream from God will agree with the Bible. No dream from God will ever break His word.
